3 years warranty
Behringer's X Air X18 is a mixing console for both stage and studio, which can be controlled remotely via a tablet running iOS, Android or Linux. The small rackmount console is based on the technology of the famous X32 from the same manufacturer and is small but sturdy. It thus offers 18 inputs and the saving of preamp settings, as well as a USB interface allowing audio to be recorded on a computer or an iPad. But that's not all, because you also benefit from digital effects without latency, an EQ per channel, six auxiliary sends and an auto-mixing function. The master also has its insert slots, dedicated EQ and dynamics processor. Professional quality sound at your fingertips! The console comes with mounting ears for insertion into a rack as well as protective corners. Finally, Behringer offers a three-year warranty on the product.
18 inputs and high-end preamps
The 18 inputs of the XR 18 consist of two line inputs and 16 microphone inputs, 2 of which can in turn be switched to high impedance inputs for instruments. Each of these inputs offers a programmable Midas preamp that guarantees crystal-clear sound. The line inputs allow you to connect tablets, smartphones, laptops or even MP3 players. The USB interface allows you to save data, load updates or send the signal from 16 channels to an external DAW. Thanks to a dedicated mobile app, you can control the console remotely even more easily as communication is done using tri-band WIFI, a protocol that offers better connection stability and faster transfers than dual-band WIFI.
A legendary sound
The mobile application reveals its full potential when it comes to discreetly controlling the XR18 hidden in a corner of the stage or rehearsal room, or when you want to share its configuration presets with other users. Apart from WIFI, the XR 18 can also be connected by ethernet to any existing LAN network, or even serve as a basis for the creation of a local network. The audio quality is not to be outdone and will satisfy the most demanding of us. In addition to the Midas preamps mentioned above, the XR18 offers us a very well-stocked effects section, including emulations of legendary devices such as the Lexicon 480 L or PCM70 reverbs. These effects can be applied to 4 stereo channels and 8 mono channels. As for dynamics processing, we can take advantage of the software versions of the Teletronix LA-2A, Urei 1176 LN or even the Fairchild 670.
